May 2020 - Part 2 - Awards, Movie Night, Mother's Day and more!!!

5-9-2020 Mommy got to present Jacen's awards to him!!  He got a Graduation Diploma, Battle of the Books award, Excellence in Math, Reading, and Social Studies, Science Club - Super Scientist, Frenship Student of the Month, and 4th place at UIL in Chess Puzzles.

Then that evening we had Hot Dogs and Movie night!

5-10-2020 Mother's Day!!!  Jacen made me a card, Daddy and Jacen got me a giftcard to Woodhouse, and every year they pick a picture to add to my book and Jacen writes me a note in there as well!!!  A fun Jacen pic with Justice!  Mommy picked 5 Guys Burgers and Fries for dinner!

5-11-2020 I helped with supply/personal items pick up at school, so I got to see lots of my students!!!  I even got a sweet note and giftcard!!!

5-13-2020 Cereal for the teachers at school!!  This was a Teacher Appreciation week activity that got moved to this week because of weather!!! That evening Kyle and I took a walk.  Notice the rainbow!

5-17-2020 Church online!!!  Then the Stanley's came by to visit!! It was so good to see them!

5-18-2020 Jacen finding random toys like his old spinners to play with today!  Science lesson today was to make an oven out of foil to heat up a S'Mores!!!  He also got out his robot to play with again!  He made an arm that would swing like golf!!!

5-19-202 I spent the day at school packing my room away for the summer :(   That evening it hailed!  More robot playing!

May 2020 - Part 1 - Teacher Appreciation Week, KiwiCrate, Playing Outside and more!

5-1-2020  Morning run before work!  We tried Soda Shack for the first time today, and it was so good!!!  Thanks to my student Karter for the giftcard!  Then Jacen and I played outside on the Slip N Slide!  Then we had Chilito's for dinner, FB live Worship night with church, and finally Mommy Jacen night building another KiwiCrate and sidewalk chalk!

5-4-2020 Today I spent the day at school packing up my student's stuff as well as taking down my hallway decorations.  The emotions were very high today.  It was like time had stopped.  We were in the middle of STAAR reviewing and competing to put our names on the medal wall.  Amazing things did happen this year in my classroom, but sadly they stopped too soon.  I miss my students, and I miss not getting to do end of the year stuff with them!  I brought Jacen's stuff home to him. In the bag was a goody bag from PTA since they didn't get to go on their end of the year field trip to Joyland.

5-5-2020 Since it is Teacher Appreciation week the administration invited us to come to school to enjoy popcorn, pics and social distance visiting!  It was nice to see coworkers, and Jacen enjoyed visiting with coworker kids!!!  Then that evening he had a Zoom meeting with the Livewires (4th and 5th graders) at church!!!  I think he had a lot of fun!

5-6-2020 Jacen made snickerdoodle cookies today for a Children's Ministry challenge at church.  He then delivered them to our neighbor next door, two of his teachers as well as another special friend.

5-7-2020 Jacen found his string and started doing string tricks again!  Bennett PTA gave all of the teachers and staff a very yummy chocolate chip cookie from Crumbl!!  Jacen playing Minecraft.  He won the Baking Challenge from church, so he got a cookie decorating kit.  So fun!

5-8-2020 Thank you to the Eleuterius family for my yummy Death by Chocolate pie from Pie Bar for Teacher Appreciation Week!!!  Mommy Jacen night involved Sonic, a "comic book" store, more string tricks, hide and seek, and cookie decorating!!!

5-9-2020 Jacen and I got hair cuts today!! Yay!!!
