Outside, Friends, and Smiles

Jacen

He loves his new fridge toy that Daddy bought him.

He loves the outside. We haven't gone outside much because of Nathan, so Jacen hadn't been out much except for walks and swimming in the pool. We have started taking him out to blow bubbles and just crawl around. When we let Patches outside, Jacen thinks he should be able to go outside too. He will even go to the back door and twist the knob.

Feeling grass for the first time.

Going for the gate handle

Cars

Crawling to the gate

He bear crawls on the concrete because it hurts his knees. Maybe he will eventually walk!

Grass Again

Laura and her mom, Karen, came to visit!!!!

Nathan

Nathan on tummy time with guard dog Patches. Notice he is trying to suck on his hand!!!!

Swinging outside in the shade must be boring because he went to sleep.

Watching the lights on the swing.

Daddy Time with lots of smiles and sweet expressions!!!!!!

We have jumped through all the hoops for medicaid and insurance for Nathan!!!! As of September 1st, he and I are officially on Kyle's insurance, so there will be no more Cobra payments. We have done everything for medicaid as well, so he will be double covered!!!!!

Jacen

Jacen has no fear!!!! He loves to look outside and will climb on or in anything to see out the window!

We did bubbles for the first time this week. He loved trying to catch them!

It is so fun to watch Jacen play. This day he was putting the hamburger bun in the skillet and then tried and tried to get it in the oven.

He still loves technology just like his daddy.

Nathan

He is becoming more tolerant of laying on his side. I put his hands together, and he kept them that way for a bit!!!

He is laying there on his own without anything propping him up!!!!

Jacen with no fear climbing UP the slide!!!!!

EEG, Playing, Park, and ASU

On Friday, Nathan had another 2 hour EEG with video. As Dr. Brown put it afterwards, the EEG looked good for Nathan. There are still many questions about what one can tell from Nathan's EEGs. The one thing we decided was to NOT change his phenobarbital dose.

Jacen

Jacen continues to be a happy baby/toddler, he likes to play by himself, he will stay focused on things for long periods of time, he seems to be a problem solver, and he has no fear. We brought the toy with a slide and door inside and he loves it! He climbed up the slide!!!! He is getting to where he will stand on his own for short periods of time. He still won't walk without holding onto something. He has 8 teeth. He loves most foods that we feed him except apples. He says dada, mama, pup pup, bubba, bye bye, quack quack, no no, and other babbling that we don't understand. Promotion Sunday was yesterday at church. He is now in the Castle's class. They are awesome!!!!!

Nathan

Nathan continues to be more content because we are going to the chiropractor. We continue to work with ECI using the red "boxing" gloves and kinesiotape. We are focusing on laying on his side, joint compressions, and bumbo time right now. He still loves tummy time. We have used the tube more this past week, he is taking 30 minutes to eat now, and we have had lots of spit up. Hopefully all of that gets better!!!!

Park

We met Elizabeth and her boys at the park early Wednesday morning. We still have to watch Nathan's temperature. Jacen loved climbing, sliding, and playing in the sand. Nathan had a good morning hanging out in his stroller while we talked to him. Avery even sang to him : )

ASU

Kyle and I both graduated from ASU in San Angelo, so when Kyle was there in April to help with Regional UIL, he got the boys ASU shirts!!! I don't know how photographers do it. I couldn't get Jacen to be still long enough to get a good picture of them together :(
