Who Needs Toys Anyway

We always seem to stay busy, but with what exactly I am not sure. We went to the nephrologist on Thursday. We didn't learn anything new except Nathan's kidneys are still functioning at about 25%. Nathan continues to see Dr. Sanders, the chiropractor, twice a week. He still seems more happy and content. ECI, bloodwork, and Nathan's hospice nurse visits were also part of this week. People from church continue to bring us food, help with Jacen during appointments, and help around the house. We are very thankful for these wonderful giving people.

JACEN

Jacen pulled himself up to reach over the couch.

Jacen learned how to get from crawling to sitting this week, so he was practicing in bed and fell asleep sitting up.

I put a few toys in the middle of the room for Jacen to play with while I fed Nathan, but he decided to go lay with all his toys and look at a book.

Patches and Jacen both thought they needed my breakfast.

Jacen loves to get under the recliner while I am feeding Nathan. I carefully crawled out of the recliner to take this picture.

Jacen army crawls everywhere now. He seems to like to explore everything especially things that aren't his toys. Grandparents I am not sure what to have you buy him for his birthday. He prefers things other than his toys!!!!

Jacen is getting pretty good at eating cheerios and drinking out of a cup.

Jacen had real bananas this weekend. He wasn't too sure.

Jacen this weekend has seemed really interested in standing. Kyle was seeing if he needed something shorter than our furniture to pull up on and a laundry basket of all things worked!

NATHAN

This is what Nathan does when I put him on tummy time, and he doesn't want to be on tummy time. Yes he scooted himself!

Nathan's cute little feet.

He fell asleep "sitting" with us on the futon about 7pm. He slept there until his 11pm bottle.

Bumbo Time

Lights are more interesting than toys.

He wanted to look outside.

It was so nice on Friday that we took a stroller ride.

Family and Easter

We have had a busy week with family and Easter. After my Mom and Stepdad were here last weekend, Kyle's Dad and Stepmom came Monday through Thursday along with Aunt Laci for part of that time. Then to finish off the week, Kyle's Mom and Stepdad were here Friday and Saturday. Then today we went to an awesome Easter service at church, but Kyle had to do technology stuff. This meant I got to get both boys ready and into church. Well actually I texted Kyle to meet me in the parking lot, but he didn't get it. So I decided I could carry my purse, both bags, and both boys. I am sure I looked pretty funny. Thanks to Staci and Kim for your help!!!!

Boys

There are times when I think Jacen knows Nathan is sick. He often will go to Nathan's swing and touch him or push the swing. He will also look very concerned when he cries. In the second photo, he actually came over to Nathan and seemed to comfort him by taking his hand. Of course, there are the other times where he acts like a typical brother and hits him or pulls on him :)

Nathan

We have had an interesting feeding week with Nathan. We had days where he would scream during the entire bottle, sleep through the entire bottle, spit up the whole bottle, or refuse to bottle. So he did get the tube in his nose twice this week :(

Tummy time - look at him holding up his head!!!!!

Smiles

Nathan and I watched part of a Good Friday service on klove.com. He was very interested in the computer screen.

Jacen

Jacen loves crackers!

This week during snack time we worked on picking up puffs and holding our own cup.

Jacen loves things that open/close or turn like a book.

Jacen, Patches, and I went on a walk on Saturday. Jacen wasn't sure about his hat.

Kyle's Dad, Stepmom, and Laci visited this week.

Look at Jacen's hand on Aunt Laci's face :)

Easter

I forgot to take any pictures at church :( Thank you Dondra for the adorable outfits!!!! We didn't hunt eggs, but the boys did get baskets with a toy and eggs (Jacen's eggs had puffs in them). We couldn't leave Patches out, so he got 2 eggs with treats in them.
