Easter 2014

Daddy created a Scavenger hunt using clues inside Easter eggs that led Jacen to his Easter present.  Jacen had fun looking for clues :)

We ran out of time for the Resurrection Rolls so we tried them at dinner instead. Jacen loves to help!

Then with the leftover butter and sugar/cinnamon Jacen enjoyed mixing and playing!!

We spent time the day before looking at the Resurrection Eggs that I created last year.   Jacen could tell me what almost of the eggs meant.  We were impressed!!!

Casting Crowns Concert

4-25-14  Casting Crowns Concert!!  Jacen's first concert!!!

Laura Story is also on tour with them.  She sings "Blessings" which reminds me of my time with Nathan.  She sang it at the concert!!!!

Jacen's Week with Prayer Bear

Prayer Bear is a special bear that Jacen's daycare sends home for a week to help remind the children that God is always with them.  His teacher, Ms. Mary, chose him last week because of how well he behaved.

4-11-14

After buckling both Jacen and Prayer Bear into the car, we went home.  Jacen was fascinated by Prayer Bear’s books.  He enjoyed finding his friends on the pages.  Prayer Bear got to sit at the table with us as we ate dinner.  Next, Jacen, Mommy, and PB made chocolate chip cookies.  Jacen enjoys tasting the dough, so he let PB “taste” some too!!  Finally, it was time for Bible story time, prayers and bed.  PB slept with Jacen.

  

4-12-14

Saturday, was a fun day filled with two parties.  But before parties, Jacen and PB watched cartoons in Mommy and Daddy's bed, and ate breakfast where he shared his pear with PB.  The first party was Katelyn’s, who also goes to Ripley’s, so we took him in to Ready, Set, Go to celebrate as well!   Next, we went to the grocery store, so PB waited for us in the car.  After a quick lunch at home, we went to the next birthday party Jacen was invited to.  PB stayed at home since it was a swim party.  We didn’t want PB to get wet or hot in the car, so we left him at home to take a nap.  Then we returned home to have “Phillips Family Movie Night” where we had pizza, Dr. Pepper, and ice cream and watched a Curious George Movie.  PB enjoyed the movie too!  Finally it was time for Bible story, prayers and bed.  PB slept with Jacen again!

4-13-14

Sunday morning after eating breakfast at home as a family, Jacen and PB watching cartoons, and blowing bubbles, we went to church.  PB stayed in the car while we went to Bible class and church.  Next we returned home to eat lunch where PB of course ate with us.  Then it was time for PB and Jacen to take a nap before Small Group.  After playing for a little while, we went to Small Group, but we left PB in the car because there were so many other kids.  We didn’t want him to get dirty or hurt.  Finally, back to the house for Bible story, prayers, and bedtime. 

4-14-14

Monday morning everyone got ready to leave.  We left PB playing with the toys in Jacen’s room today.  Upon returning home, Jacen brought PB to the kitchen, so they could put candy in the Easter eggs for the Ripley’s Easter egg hunt.  Then Jacen helped me cook dinner while PB watched.  While eating, Jacen wanted PB to get a plate too, so PB got his own plate and didn’t have to share with Jacen today.  After bath, Bible story, and prayers, Jacen and PB went to sleep.

4-15-14

Jacen left Prayer Bear napping today while we went to work, and Jacen went to Ripley’s.  After returning home, PB watched as Jacen helped us get supper ready. Jacen wanted to share a Starburst with PB tonight. Then Jacen took a shower, so PB sat in the bathroom.  Next, it was time for Bible story, prayer, and bed.   

4-16-14

Today Prayer Bear spent the day in Daddy’s car, since we don’t come home before church.  He got to see all sorts of cars passing by downtown.  Then he rode to church with Daddy.  After church, we returned home, got ready for bed, read our Bible story, prayed, and went to bed. 

Jacen was so excited to find out that he had Prayer Bear this week!!!  He enjoyed every minute of his time with PB!!!!
