December 2021 - Part 3 - Washington DC Part 1

12-21-21 We left out of Lubbock really early in the morning and went through Dallas Love Field where Jacen chose to sit by himself for a little while :)  Once we arrived in Washington DC, we walked from our hotel to the National Christmas tree.  On the way we stopped for some pics at the Eisenhower Executive Office Buildings as well as the Texas Christmas tree!  Then we got a pic outside the White House! Next up, we ate dinner at Elephant and Castle which is a British Pub!  We then headed to Ford's Theatre to watch A Christmas Carol, but since we were early, we walked to Urban Roast to get some coffee and chai!  Then we headed back to Ford's Theatre to see the museum and watch the play.  The play was phenomenal and the theatre was a must see on our history tour!  We found some pretty Christmas lights on our walk back to our hotel!

12-22-21 We got Metro passes, so we could explore more places!!!  Jacen loved the Metro!  We went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History on this day.  Then for lunch we ate Food Truck food!  Next up, we visited the National Archives, but you can't take any pics inside so we only have the pic outside!  Then we stopped for coffee/chai and gelatto at Dolcezza which was very yummy!  Then we took a night tour of the Monuments which was really neat!  To end the night we ate at the Old Ebbitt Grill which was so yummy!
