December Pics Part 6 - Christmas Trip Part 1 - Austin

12-21-16  We left Lubbock on the way to Austin to see the capitol.  He has wanted to see the capitol and the Alamo ever since Mrs. Dowgar talked about it in Kindergarten!!   On the way we stopped to say hi to Grandma, Aunt Amy, Madisyn, Blaine, and Pawpaw!!

Once we arrived in Austin, we walked by the capitol on the way to Which Wich to eat dinner as well as to go to this cool bookstore called BookPeople, and we also saw the capitol again on the way back!

12-22-16  Jacen wanted to go to the capitol first thing today, so we did and stayed there 4 hours.  We took the tour and then looked over it all again on our own!!! The capitol was decorated for Christmas, so that was fun to see!

Each Representative in Texas sends an ornament to hang on the tree in the House of Representatives.  This is the picture of what the Lubbock one looks like as well as who made it.  Pretty cool!

After the library, we moved on to the Bullock Museum!  Jacen enjoyed this as well!  

When they did renovations on the capitol they replaced the Goddess of Liberty at the top because she was deteriorating.  So they put the old one in the museum!  He was fascinated by the air and space area!

On the way back to the hotel, Jacen wanted to go back by the capitol.  He was fascinated by it!  The following pic is the inverted dome in the extension.

12-23-16 Jacen wanted to return to the capitol again today, so we stop by there again before going on to the LBJ library!!
